I am lucky to be running the London Marathon 2017 in support of MapAction – a humanitarian mapping charity that works through skilled volunteers. The MapAction specialist teams help to save lives and minimise suffering by making the response to humanitarian emergencies as targeted, efficient and effective as possible.
The marathon will be a personal challenge but one that I look forward to. There is nothing for it but to lace up my trainers and get into the training.

About MapAction
In the aftermath of a disaster thousands of people can suddenly find themselves battling to save lives and livelihoods. Before aid agencies can help them, the first requirement is information. Which areas have yet to be reached? Where are the relief resources? Where are the people in greatest need?
